Angry Muslims in Malaysia retaliate against evangelism and apparently abduct a Christian pastor — and are feared to have killed him

Around the same time the Malaysian parliament began discussing how to better integrate Sharia law with the nation’s civil laws, Pastor Raymond Koh was kidnapped from the city of Petaling Jaya. The 62-year-old pastor had angered a Muslim group in the past for “proselytizing” and had been accused of converting Muslims to Christianity.

His abduction on February 13, caught on a security camera, appears to have been professionally executed. His son Jonathan fears his father has been murdered.

“He’s passionate, he loves people, he loves God. The operation was very well planned. They knew who he was, where he was going, and probably had been tracking him. It was very professionally executed,” Raymond’s son Jonathan told the BBC.

Raymond’s wife, Susanna, spoke with reporters and members of her church. “Please continue to pray for his early release in a safe condition…let us persevere in prayer for the prayers of the righteous avails much. Let us continue to love God and do good to our neighbors. Raymond would be very happy today if he knows not only Malaysia is praying for him but also the whole world.”

Roughly 60 percent of Malaysia adheres to Islam; the country’s constitution states that if a person leaves Islam, they forfeit the right to be considered a Malay, and lose certain privileges which are only given to Malays who adhere to Islam.

“But now, O Lord, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are our potter; we are all the work of Your hand.” — Isaiah 64:8
