“The thief only comes to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)

The words of Jesus Christ our Lord summarize well what has been happening in the recent weeks.
I want to recommend this insightful and truthful response (only 3 minutes) to the Paris attacks from Nabeel Qureshi, a former Muslim.

The Paris Attacks: A Response From Nabeel Qureshi

Islam is the problem: Muslims are the victims. Islam is the violent religion: most of the Muslims come from a people group that seek peace. God created all of us in His image, and even the Muslim people groups want stability and peace. It’s the religion that drives them to violence.

The converse is absolutely a lie: “Islam is a peaceful religion . . . the jihadists are the problem.”

The politically correct view seems to be something like: “The terrorists have hijacked a peaceful religion.”

This is a lie. The one behind Islam is Satan, and according to Jesus, Satan comes to “steal, kill and destroy.”

Look at the following words from the Quran (Muslim holy book) –

Surah 9:111 – “Allah has bought from the believers their selves and their possessions against the gift of Paradise; they fight in the way of Allah; they kill, and are killed; that is a promise binding upon Allah in the Torah, and the Gospel, and the Koran; and who fulfils his covenant truer than Allah? So rejoice in the bargain you have made with Him; that is the mighty triumph.”

Surah 8:39 – “Fight them until there is no more fitnah (disbelief and polytheism – i.e., worshiping others besides Allah) and the religion will be for Allah alone (in the whole of the world).”

When the rest of the Muslims state in the public media that they condemn and reject terrorism, they are either 1) ignorant of their own religion (like Nabeel Qureshi was before he turned to Christ) or 2) they are lying to cover up their religion. But this does not surprise us, because their god, “Allah”, is the best of deceivers . . .

Surah 3:54 – And they cheated/deceived and Allah cheated/deceived, and Allah (is) the best (of) the cheaters/deceivers.

The Body of Christ has to acknowledge that Christians and Muslims do not believe in the same God! Their god (Allah) deceives, and incites hatred, murder, and sexual immorality (on earth and in their paradise with 70 virgins). He demands death to his enemies . . . what a reflection of Satan!

Our God is holy, true, loving, forgiving, and would even die for His enemies (Rom 5:6-8) in order to save them. Who would not love and worship such a God (on earth and in heaven)?

And so, as ambassadors of Jesus Christ (2 Cor 5:20), our role is to introduce our God to the people (Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, atheists, homosexuals . . .) living in darkness!

The god of this world has blinded them (2 Cor 4:4) . . . and we must pray that the Holy Spirit would open their hearts and minds (Acts 16:14) to step out of darkness and into His light. And join us in loving and worshiping the Living God! (Isaiah 56:6,7)

After praying, we also must reach out and engage with the Muslims around us. Jesus did more than just pray every morning for hours. He got up and went to the sick and the poor, the demonized, the rejected; He healed them, He taught them, He loved on them.

Here’s what CNN said about Farook (yesterday’s killer) –

He kept a low profile – Those who worked with Farook described him as quiet.
“I would say hi and bye. But we never engaged him in conversation. He didn’t say much at all,” said Griselda Reisinger, a former co-worker, told the Los Angeles Times.

Maria Gutierrez, who knew Farook, used the same word to describe him to The New York Daily News. “He was quiet but always polite,” she said.

Whether Farook ever had tea/coffee with a Christian is not yet known. But you and I have the opportunity to engage in conversation with the Muslims around us. All we have to do is talk “high and exalted” about our Lord Jesus! That’s how we shine the light. Tell the Muslims what Jesus has done for you in your personal life. Tell them about the healings and miracles in the Bible as well as in the lives of the people around you. Offer them a copy of the Bible . . . send them a link to a morning devotional that really blessed you. Some of the Muslims will start walking towards the light . . . and away from darkness.

The longer the Muslims stay in darkness, the more likely they will become like Farook or Salah Abdeslam (Paris jihadist) . . . because they are being fed lies and hatred from Satan.

We are engaged in a spiritual war! This is not a clash of different ideologies and religions. It’s a war between the Kingdom of Darkness and the Kingdom of Light.

Praying for the Church to rise up with grace and truth (Jn 1:17) of our Lord and shine His light to the ends of the earth,
–James
